Wow! What an incredible Word at church today! You know, the word “Grace” is a popular buzz word in many Christian circles. It is usually taught like this…”God’s Grace covers up anything you want to do, so, don’t worry too much about what you’re doing, God will cover it”.
Read Galatians 5:13-15 in your favorite version. Now look at it from The Message:
13-15 It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure that you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. For everything we know about God’s Word is summed up in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out—in no time at all you will be annihilating each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?
Grace (freedom) is so important to understand, but what is Grace without Lordship!! When Grace is paired with the acknowledgement and life of submission to Jesus’ Lordship then new things are birthed! So, a Believer needs both Grace and Lordship to open up Heaven! Pastor James gave three really important points about Grace!
1. Grace without Lordship is permissive chaos!
2. Grace without submission creates offended believers!
3. Grace without following rejects the places of God’s highest purposes!
I am so thankful for the Grace of God and also for His Lordship in and over my life!! With understanding both of these…life is GOOD!
